Brand Strategy Director for dating app brand refresh at Koto

Koto are looking for an experienced Brand Strategy Director to support an upcoming project for a well‑known dating app brand.

The work will be developing a new brand positioning, ahead of development of a new visual identity. If you have experience in naming, there’s opportunity for the project to stretch into that too, but our priority is the brand strategy.

  • Has senior-level brand strategy experience
  • Is confident running projects end-to-end with minimal oversight
  • Can lead stakeholder interviews, desk research and competitive/category analysis
  • Is comfortable working into a crowded category and finding fresh angles
  • Is open-minded and culturally curious – the brief involves a dating app with a specific cultural group, so sensitivity and openness will be essential
  • Is confident presenting work to clients, shaping narratives and defending recommendations
  • Experience developing brand positioning, and working on projects to develop visual identity and branding.

Practical details:

  • Start: Ideally end of January / beginning of February
  • Duration: Approx. 4 weeks for strategy; up to 6–7 weeks if also supporting naming
  • Day rate: €500–600, depending on experience
  • Location: We’re based in Berlin, but open to remote as long as you can work European hours. If you’re Berlin-based and happy to come into the studio, even better.
